Rockapella’s Last Hurrah, originally uploaded by eyduck.

Album Review: Rockapella, “Lucky Seven: Memories and Dreams”

Sean Altman, originally uploaded by skyvue.

Rockapella’s 1996 album is unique in many ways. One is that this is Sean Altman’s last album with them and is the second with new arrival Jeff Thacher, and another reason? It’s an incredible album, because when Sean left, he left with a bang.

One downside is that this album is out of print, which in my opinion, is wrong on so many levels it ain’t even funny.  Amazon.com came to my rescue and while it was a little pricey to get, it was worth every penny. Richard Jeni’s pizza analogy I used to describe “From N.Y.” from my last album review holds true here.

Laura from Bright and Beautiful talked about how Sean and Scott are like John Lennon and Paul Macartney, and she is right.  Sean is the quirky songwriter (John), and Scott is the romantic songwriter (Paul).
