I am half done with my SCAD graduate program.
I have a new blog! Art History Ramblings
Hey, did you know that Kevin Wright left Rockapella and now they have a new member? Haven’t heard anything new from him, so I do not have an opinion. I generally trust their choices.

I went to the opening of the Bechtler Museum in my hometown. This was a big deal because we now have the best of the best of the Modern art era such as Warhol, Picasso, and a Degas. Got a chance to talk to Andreas Bechtler himself, the man who donated all the art to this museum. That was because he was friends with an artist that I wrote an essay and I’m going to try and get noticed for it. Since the modern era is an era I concentrate on the most, I took my mom around explaining who and what the artworks and artists were about. We overhear a journalist wanting to talk to the visitors on what they thought about the museum, so I went up and made my statement.

And in other news, saw the new Sherlock Holmes….mmmm…nekkid Robert Downey. Plus I love London in the 1800s. It was so disgusting in all it’s delight.

Il bacio – Francesco Hayez 1859, originally uploaded by .toffa..
I first saw this painting when I was living with my host mother in Ireland. I thought it was so romantic and sensuous. I love the way he holds her face in his hands as he kisses her. The folds of her skirt is painted with such incredible skill too. They practically pop out of the page.

I’m going to paraphrase Dali when describing Escher. He didn’t just do art with prescision, he was prescision.
